If you have been banned or muted on Snapcraft and would like the opportunity for this restriction to be reduced or lifted, we recommend you submit an appeal by creating a ticket in the #create-tickets channel under the 'Punishment Appeal' category in our Discord.
Once you have created a ticket, the appeal team will review your case and all context surrounding it and come to a final decision to accept or reject your appeal. Alternatively, we may reduce your restriction.
We want you to have a positive appeal experience. To do so, we are offering some tips for you to keep in mind.
Many players submit appeals that are likely to be denied, often damaging their chances for future appeals. To help you avoid the same mistakes, we've highlighted some common errors to keep in mind during your appeal process.
We understand how frustrating it can be to receive a punishment you feel is unfair or undeserved. However, we encourage you to take a step back from creating an appeal until your emotions have settled. Appeals written in anger or frustration are rarely effective. Our team is not obligated to deal with people who are hostile and your appeal will be immediately denied.
Offering any form of bribe or threat in your appeal will result in an immediate rejection. Additonally, attempting to message staff members privately with bribes or threats will not only be taken seriously but will also negatively impact your appeal and may lead to further consequences.
Taking responsibility of your own actions is essential. If you create an appeal with the intent to shift blame onto someone else in hopes of avoiding punishment, it will be denied.
Our rules and punishments are not up for debate. Creating an appeal that argues our rules are unfair or that your punishment is too harsh shows you are not taking responsibility for your actions, but rather trying to argue against the consequences. Appeals are not the place to dispute the validity of the rules.
Your appeal is not the place to give excuses for your actions. You should focus on giving us an explanation and showing empathy.
You may appeal all punishments once. If your appeal is rejected, we will tell you if and when you may appeal again in our response.
If you truly feel your appeal needs a second look by a different staff member, you may submit an Admin Ticket with any details. Please ensure to include a valid reason for this request.
No, you may only appeal your own punishment.
This may be an intentional decision or a mistake. Please create a new appeal for your alt(s) to allow us to review your case.
No, you will not be given the opportunity to transfer any valuables before or during your punishment.
No, you will be directed to submit a proper appeal. If you cannot appeal through our Discord, you may email [email protected].
The response time to your appeal will vary based on why you're punished, your history, and the availability of our staff.
Displaying patience, empathy, and taking accountability for your actions is a good start to showing you've earned a reduced punishment.
