Helper Trial How the Helper trial works
¶ Staff Positions
¶ QA Team
- QA Team is a position separate from our moderation staff.
- QA Members are not responsible for handling any moderation on the server. Their sole responsibility is assiting our development team.
- Anyone can apply for QA if they meet our requirements.
¶ Builder
- Builder is a position separate from our moderation staff.
- Builders are not responsible for handling any moderating on the server. Their sole responsibility is building.
- Builders are still classified as members of our staff team.
- Anyone can apply for Builder if they meet our requirements.
¶ Helper
- Helper is the first rank of moderation staff.
- Moderate in-game chat and gameplay to the extent of their abilities.
- Moderate Snapcraft Discord.
- Handle Player Reports tickets.
- Assist players with questions and concerns.
- Anyone can apply for Helper if they meet our requirements.
NOTE: Helper is a trial role focused on learning. They're not expected to handle every situation and should contact senior staff for complex issues. They lack full permissions and should prioritize building confidence over taking initiative.
¶ Mod
- Mod is the second rank of moderation staff.
- If a Helper passes their trial, they receive the Mod role.
- Handle General Support, Player Report, and Bug Reports & Issues tickets.
- Ability to join the Mentor Team, Media Team, and Report Team.
- More permissions and trust to handle scenarios appropriately.
¶ SrMod
- SrMod is the third rank of moderation staff.
- Outstanding Mods can be promoted to SrMod.
- Handle General Support, Player Report, Bug Reports & Issues, Webstore Support, and Admin Tickets.
- Ability to join the Mentor Team, Media Team, Report Team, Event Team, and Appeal Team.
- Ability to assist in some Staff Manager and administrative responsibilities.
- Assist in overseeing and training the staff team.
¶ Developer
- Developer is a position separate from our moderation staff.
- Developers are not responsible for handling any moderating on the server.
- Developers work alongside the Owners and Admins in developing new content and maintaining the network.
¶ Admin
- Admin is a position separate from our moderation staff.
- Admins can be responsible for handling moderating on the server alongside other administrative duties.
- Ability to obtain the Staff Manager and Media Manager positions.
- Handle Discord updates, staff document revisions, wiki revisions, media management, staff team management, event coordination, etc.
- Address day-to-day issues on the server.
¶ Owner
- The Owners are responsible for the operation of the network.
¶ Sub-Team Roles
Staff members can obtain a variety of additional roles which give them more responsibility outside of just moderating the server.
¶ Staff Manager
The Staff Manager role is held by one Admin. Currently, this role is held by Admin wowoow.
- Recruit new staff.
- Manage current staff team.
- Oversee Mentor Team.
- Handle staff reports.
- Update staff documents and policies.
- Other responsibilities.
¶ Media Manager
The Media Manager role is held by one Admin.
- Recruit new Media members.
- Manage current Media team alongside the Owners.
- Oversee staff-side Media Team.
- Oversee Snapcraft social media pages.
¶ Wiki Team
The Wiki Team is accessible by SrMod+.
- Review and update pages on wiki to maintain accuracy.
- Coordinate the wiki’s design, layout, and style.
¶ Appeal Team
The Appeal Team is accessible by SrMod+.
- Review all punishment appeals.
- Accept or deny appeals.
¶ Event Team
The Event Team is accessible by SrMod+.
- Handle planning, coordination, and creation of events.
- Ensure events are fair to all participants.
- Ensure events are engaging and favored by the majority.
- Ensure events are set up properly and fail-proof.
- Handle the event hosting.
- Organize event announcement, including date, time, and prize.
¶ Mentor Team
The Mentor Team is accessible by Mod+.
- Assigned to Helpers at beginning of their trial.
- Guide Helpers through their entire trial.
- Assist Helpers with questions, tips, and opinions.
¶ Media Team
The Media Team is accessible by Mod+.
- Discuss engaging ideas and creating new content for Snapcraft social media.
- Zero authority over our exterior content creators.
- Separate from our exterior content creators.
¶ Report Team
The Report Team is accessible by Mod+.
- Review all punishments submitted by Helpers.
- Rule punishments as valid or invalid based on context and evidence.
- Log punishments appropriately.
